The Article - BEST updated

BeST program is one of the programs that are fully funded by the BiotechCorp which is stands for Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Special Training (BeST). Being as one of BeST program trainee is such an awesome experience I’ve ever been for whole my ‘student’s life’. It is so fantastic to be here. Our campus is in the University Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR); surrounded by beautiful places, comfortable environment, the high technology of facilities, it is totally inspirational place for research and training program especially for this BeST program. The trainers for BeST program were ‘best’ for all over and they are all very professional trainers that is specialize for BeST program only. All the members from my batch, March-May 2010 intake, was awesome too, we are come from different culture, background, race and religion but once we are gathered together here, we are become one and very pleased to know each other. This is really great because we are here as a big family and surrounding by courteous environment in gain the learning experience together here in the BeST program.

Being one among the ‘best’ trainee that was chosen to be here, in this program is a precious memory ever for me. Another best part of BeST program for us as a trainee is that we training here for free. We are not paying for anything to enter this program instead we were given the allowance every month during the duration of our training which is for the six months intensive program. I am very grateful for that. I knew that I’ve made the right choice to apply to join this program right after I’m done with my practical session few months ago. After I finish my studies, and yet done my practical, I know my journey is getting tough afterward, so I have to be more prepare for my future ‘working-life’ soon and I choose BeST program is the best; hence, here I am, going to digging the important issues, information about biotechnology and ‘best’ learning experiences as many as I can get from BeST program for the whole 6 months.

As far as I am concerned about BeST program all these while is that they are aim to boost the knowledge and skills of life sciences or biotechnology in technical, communication skills, appropriate language used and in the business field since the BeST program itself was encompasses the entrepreneurship areas. I’ve mentioned earlier that I am here is to prepare myself for the future working-life, in which this BeST program is give the unemployed graduates the relevant special or real world skill as well as industry experience and exposure about working-life soon. According to the BiotechCorp website, BeST program also about to match the knowledge and skills of the graduates with the competencies required by biotechnology industry which is ultimately prepare the graduates to the real world challenge in the future. It is a good thing that BiotechCorp to have a program like this. It is worth for those who interested to learn and gain more about the biotechnology industry in term of learning the essential skills and knowledge for entry-level positions within biotechnology companies or biotechnology-related companies in the future.

It’s been more than a month I am here in this program. There are a lot of things I’ve compiled up during these times. The first module that we have been exposed to is the communication module which is comprises the 20s programs within it. The first classroom based-instruction we had is effective resume and impressive cover letter by our lovely trainers Ms. Norliza Mohd Hashim and Ms. Nor Farahiyah Mohamad kamal@Hod. This program is particularly for applying the job in term of how to write an effective resume, the do and don’t in writing resume and also how make our cover letter more impressive. Apart from this program, we also has been taught on how to conduct an effective meeting, which is we learnt about what are the things that we should put into consideration while conducting a meeting, how do we should run the formal and informal meeting, and so on. This module was trained by Ms. Suzelina Mohd Sakian and Ms. Iris Madonna Simon Marshall D’cruz.
Then, we also exposed to communication concepts and skills module by Mr. Khairul Najmi Idris and Ms. Nurul sofia Ahmad Fuad. Honestly their slot was interesting in this communication module because we had learnt about many concepts and skills of communication. We are trained to communicate in an appropriately according to a certain situation. We also need to know some skills to interact with the society and especially with the client in our future working-life. For instance, in what manner we should approach certain matters related to our work according to the situation, what are the appropriate skills we should have in dealing with other peoples, and so on. It is fun to learn these all because it is the basic knowledge that is actually we had within ourselves. There are a lot more programs under this communication module and they are really awesome, plus the professional trainers we had was so good in deliver the ‘best’ information for us during the classroom based-instruction.
All of the programs that are taught during these times were very brilliant and interesting. The learning system was so smooth, sequence and smart. We are as the trainees were very easy to adapt with the system in term of material usage, communication skills, basic knowledge of certain topic that they train us and also we are completely can get along with the trainers during the class. We questioning & answering question, sharing information and knowledge, doing some fun activities regarding the topic and etcetera. The learning material used is comprehensive and they are increasing my knowledge and more understanding about the subject. The trainers are really preparing enough for the presentation of the module and put all hearted to train us dynamically. I can see that. Wow! That’s great…Since the English language is very important nowadays; their English language usage was very good, and even better they are knowledgeable enough about the topic in training us. I guess that is the strength for BeST program, to produce a ‘high quality’ of their product, particularly, it’s us, the trainees.

BiotechCorp has meets many people expectation about its potential in developing and preparing students to the biotechnology industry. So, this is a great idea for BiotechCorp to have BeST program to train the fresh graduates like us in preparing us to the real world to help the industry to develop the commercial uses of biotechnology in our career soon. As I said earlier, being one of the BeST program trainees was a precious experience in learning ever. We are exposed to the various principles of communication and the practical application of communication tools for real life situations. We are taught for further exposure to various assignments that tested our competencies in verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Being equipped with complete business management tools prior to engaging in business ventures or the corporate world in the future was absolutely strike for the entrepreneurs’ success in the real life business venture experience.
Those are my personal point of view about this BeST program. This program meets my expectation and honestly I am greatly developed for these few weeks. In a nutshell, I would like to conclude my point by saying that BeSt program is ultimately worth for every graduate’s student, really. Hopefully by attending this BeST program I will be more ready, enthusiastic and developed enough to face the working world soon. Hopefully so, all the knowledge that I’ve been learnt from this program will assist me to enhance my job quality and productivity in the future. I am deeply appreciating this program, by attending BeST program, so that I’m not sort of desperate and simply jump to ‘working world’ without any plan and preparation about the job. I’m glad to said that BeST program give me exposure about the entrepreneurship skills that is really useful in the future. Million thanks to the Malaysia Biotechnology Corporation for having this kind of program. Well, I’m very grateful being as one of intelligentsia of BeST program trainees.
